Hi, I'd just like to say that this is a fantastic idea, and that the site has a great deal of potential! I wish you the best of luck in getting the site sorted, but am a bit concerned that the contributors seem to have a lot more knowledge about genealogy than some of the site's management team... I mean, didn't you know that before civil registration all birth dates, obtained through research from parish registers are approximate. The ability to indicate an approximated birth date is a must. It is possible to hold actual dates beyond this point; some sects eg. the Quakers registered the exact births of children early on but unless a family has an aristocratic concern for family history and account-keeping - christening or baptism records are the only sources - which can only lead to approximate dates being surmised. I wish everyone could know the exact dates of their ancestor's births but we can't all be aristocrats or quakers! :o)
