Brian,I had problems from before 1837 online came online-have given it up as a bad job-but i have friends who have downloaded the viewer successfully but then the wastage problems come up so they don't use it much now.I asked also from the help desk before the launch if the cost would always be by credit card or if a voucher system could be implemented as for the 1901 census and was given the answer that not at present but other options were being looked at.once these teething problems are sorted it will be a brilliant site. |

Has anyone else had trouble downloading the DjVu viewer for the 1837 site. I've tried it several times, clearing out temporary internet files between downloads, and it keeps coming up with a "cannot run executable file, file is corrupted. Please obtain another copy" message. Currently waiting for their helpdesk to come back to me! |
