Hi Susan I really appriciate (not good at spelling)how hard it is for you. I have never known my mother and this year I decided I would try and find her. I have used a people finder service.. It costs approx £80 pounds and its a bit like walking in mud when you re looking for a female..because of re mariage ect. However, It s a start and sometimes I think going slowly is good for the emotional side of things. Good luck Vonnie. |

Hi susan, a good way to trace your natural mum would be to get in touch with the addoption society, that arranged the addoption in the first place they will have a record of her name address ect:at the time of addoption, if you do not already have that information. MY STORY.. mums have their children addopted for many reasons, not always because they want to, my daughter was addopted because I was 14 years old when I gave birth I did not get to see her the nurse ran off with her before I could open my eyes, my mother said it was for the best. it was not my choice but to young to have a say. I never gave up hope of us meeting, I kept in touch with the addoption society , every time I'd move house, when I married my name changed, I informed them of every change in my life for 15 years, then one day the letter arrived on the mat , she wanted to find me, when she was 15, she ask a social worker to see if she could trace me, who made 1 phone call to the society, and there I was waiting with open arms, I wanted her to know that she was not just given up or unloved, Im now 43 and she is 29 and I have 2 lovely grand children who I adore. my life was never complete until she found me, she was born in 1975 we held each other for the first time in 1989.the bond was there and so was the love...I will never forget that feeling for as long as I live.. good luck. sallyanne xx |

Hi Susan, I recently traced my natural parents, and it has been a wonderful, fulfilling experience. I firstly applied to social services for my records, and they gave me the names of my parents. I found my Dad that same day on friendsreunited, but my Mum proved more elusive. I eventually found her with the help of the wonderful Joan Allan at myfolks (dot) (co)(dot) (uk) who specialise in tracing lost family members. I now have a lovely relationship with both of my parents. Good luck with your search, love Liz xx |
