Does anyone have any thoughts about the name MAY? I know it can be a standalone name but could it possibly be either a nickname or an abbreviation?? Peter

Peter I know a couple of May's who were really Mary. Now off to bed!!! Kathleen

peter my nan was called annie may.this was bacause she was born in the month of may her sister was ivy june,being born in june hope that helps.haha sue

My mum was called May. Some folks called her Kay, Mavis, Mary (much to her disMAY) I have also heard that Amaryllis was sometimes shortened to May. regards Di
