Dont give up. I still have not got to the bottom of why my mother could not return to home to Ireland. Further back I think some of my lot were transported to Australia. They are the interesting ones. Good Luck. Jenny |

I'd be just a tad leary of marrying a descendant of Henry V111. Certainly wouldn't keep any axes around the house!!! |

John, you lucky thing - I have been trying to find this sort of info for ages but with no luck. Apart from someone who was in court charged with bawdy behaviour in a house of ill repute I've found nothing.(Not even too sure if this lady is related or not but am trying my hardest to make her be). Keep going, you might be related to someone famous - Henry V111 was hardly clean living was he? Trish |

Stick with it John. As with the other replies, it gets interesting. I started with what appeared an impossible task, am now back to grandad - and have now acquired details of my dad. Genuine black sheep. Hurray for the non mundane. Badger Bill, Worthing |

John, What a noble lot our ancestors were. But if it wasn't for them. The drunken, the criminal, the immoral the whatever they were, if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be here. I wish I could link to an infamous character. It would certaily be a conversation piece. Jim |

Quite new to this. Just received my first 4 certificates. My paternal Gm was like Queen Mary (I am 67) a martinet who made me stand to attention to talk to her and I now find she was born in Eliza Terrace, Bow, her father being a clerk. My maternal Gm was 6 months pregnant with my mother when she was married, my paternal Ggf died of "brain decay", a Ggm was born in a workhouse, "father unknown". I`m a bit frightened of what else I might turn up! John |
