Happy New Year to you all, May God grant you all Health, Wealth and hapiness always. I have been away for the past two years, not by choice more by circumstance. You all must know me by now as the originator of Poet's Pot. and it pleases me to see that you retain the tradition of my original intention. I love you all and urge you to put forward your ideas in form of prose or poems. For we all have something to say and the way that we say it is original in it's content. God bless you all I shall catch you soon. Lol The Ray xxx |

hope this is good enough Never can i imagine life without you. you are my rock that helps me everyday, when we talk i always feel safe. Yet whenever we are apart the memories keep us together and no one can destroy what we have. I hope we will never loose what we have and never loose the thought of you and me together forever |

This is one I copied some time ago<----Mother knows best--He criticised her puddings and he didnt like her cake.---He wished she make the biscuits like his Mother used to bake,--She didnt wash the dishes and she didnt make the stew<she didnt mend his socks the way his Mother used to do.----------Oh well she wasnt perfect, though she tried to do her best, until she thought that it was time she had a rest,----so one day when he said the same rigmarole all through---SHE TURNED AND BOXED HIM ON HIS EARS ,JUST LIKE HIS MOTHER USED TO DO. |

Your Mother and I Are living apart, I know that seems stupid, but we weren't very smart You'll stay with her, I'll visit you At Christmas, on weekends in the summertime too Your Mother and I Are not getting along Somehow, somewhere something went wrong Everything changes, time takes its' toll Your folks fell in love, loves a very deep hole Your Mother and I, We'll do all we can do To work this thing out, and to take care of you, Familys' get broken, I know its' a shame Its nobodys' fault though, and you're not to blame Your Mother and I Are both feeling bad But things will get better, they won't stay the same And I hope when you grow up, someday you'll see Your parents are people and thats all we can be (By Loudon Wainwright III) |

why do boys think that farting is funny? why does bottled water cost so much money? why do girls paint their faces? why do men in flash cars wear red braces? who wears jeans with an elastic waist? who thinks broccoli is a nice taste? why do women wear shoes that could cripple? and why on earth does a man need a nipple? |

The movintg finger writes, and having writ Moves on. And all thy piety and wit, cane lure it back: to cancel half a line. Nor all thy tears wash away a word of it. KHAYAM |

'Remember me'? I gave up trying long ago Pleasing everyone I know, I offered my hand to Family and Friends And a comforting arm for them to depend, I sent flowers and cards to cheer them all up It seems as though it wasn't enough, Family and Friends seem never around When I shed a tear and I'm feeling down, Now nobody visits and nobody phones Seems nobody cares now I'm on my own, How people 'forget' and I do wonder why If anyone cares if you live or you die, Where are my Friends as well as my Kin Have I committed a terrible sin? I'm still the same person, I haven't changed It's the not being remembered that gives me the pain. Audrey. |

Short-Sighted! I rushed out of bed this morning I thought I'd overslept, I sped into the bathroom Without putting on my spec's. I filled a mug with water And my toothbrush with some paste! Whilst up and down I brushed my teeth I had this nasty taste. I quickly rinsed my mouth out And shocked at what I'd seen, As what I thought was toothpaste In fact was pimple cream! My teenage kids used 'magic' cream For getting rid of 'zits' I wish they'd put their things away - They really make me sick. Has anyone else 'suffered' at the hands of their teenage kids - bless 'em! |

Thanks Ernest, I sort of guessed it was like that. My friend had a poem written for me a few years ago. A lady in her street had tried for years to get her work published but no luck. She decided to write poems for others, free of charge, to get her work noticed, the only thing she requested is that he name was added to the poem. She would ask for photos of the person and have along chat trying to find out as much about the person as possible before she started to write. Before long she many people arriving on her door and to show that they were grateful they started leaving cash even though she still insisted it be free of charge. I believe that he name was Troughton? It is like my cards I put so much effort into them that if I do one for someone else I do get a block as I dont have the image in mind of the goal. |
