I do not have a family member to add to this thread but would like everyone to take a moment to think of recent casualties of conflict. Today on the news there was the report of a Royal Marine lost in Iraq. My thoughts are with that family hearing that awful knock on the door. |

My Great Uncle Maurice Fordham - Royal Northumberland Fuseliers. Killed in Action Sept 1918 aged 18. Buried Epehy Wood Farm Cemetry. Son of Thomas and Mary. For our tomorrows, they gave their lives May they never be forgotten. Wear a poppy with pride. Liz |

George Pegg, Sherwood Foresters, died after the Somme offensive - still no accurate record found, my great-uncle. The six Pollards from my father's family all killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. |

Pte. Frederick Samuel BAKER (Monmouthshire Regt.) from St George Bristol~ my great uncle and son of William and Hannah Baker. Fell in France, on the 5th September, 1917, aged 21. A memorial with his name is at Longuenesse (St Omer). |

As it is coming up to Rememberance Sunday, I thought I would start a thread where we could put the names of our relatives who have been killed in action (any war, conflict or campaign) When we remember our relatives during the next few days, perhaps we could also spare a thought or have a quiet moment for those 'belonging' to other GC members. Here are mine to start us off. Private Thomas Yoxall, 1st Bn Lancashire Fusiliers, died 11th April 1918. Company Sergeant Major Robert Percival, Grenadier Guards, died 30th September 1916. |
