Hi I posted a letter back in October about people posting their family details and then making a connection and not wanting to know. I got some nice replies from people, and one gentleman in particular helped me by finding the names of these people in the town I was searching and supplying me with addresses. I wanted to let you know what has happened since then. I cmade contact with 2 of the brothers of the lady i furst connected with on genesconnected. One of these brothers emailed me and gave more details. On these details I sent letters to various names in East Anglia. Inbetween this I got a nasty email from my first contact on Genesconnected, saying that her family knew about us (as we did not know about them), had no intention in meeting us, as they would have done if they had wanted. Told me that that all family contact should have gone through her. My contact was with her last May and not a lot materialised. She ended the email saying she was happy with her happy family and did not need any other family. Needless to say it did upset me. I emailed her brother and apologised for causing family upset and about the email from his sister. he replied apologsing for her behaviour and said keep in touch. The day after that early morning I get a phone call, an emotional man, and he said. hello (my naame), Im (name) your Uncle. We spent ages talking on the phone I spoke to his wife. She said he was poleased to heard from us. I rang my dad who contacted him, and they have now arranged to meet in the New Year. He filled my Dad in on a lot of family details things we knew nothing off. I justvwanted to Thank those people who sent me words of encouragement and help. Thank you |
