Carol, glad to hear you're ok, look after yourself love. It's 17 years on Monday since my Nan passed, now I can think of her and feel happy, yes, I get down days still, but the memories are so special. My living room is full of flowers at the moment, my Nan loved them. I too feel my Nan, Mam - in - law around the house often and that is such a comfort. God Bless, M. |

Dear Carol, I'm so pleased you are able to give us a little feedback. You are really managing well by the sound of it. My father died six years ago this Feb and at times it's like it was yesterday, the pain lessens, but the thoughts are still strong and the memories great. Don't forget to look after yourself, love Sue |

Hi Carol I just had to put a little piece down. I lost my dad 5 years ago in February, so I know what your going through, it's always nice to have somebody who you can talk to with ease about your loss. Me, my sister and brother have my Nan whenever we go to her house we just constantly talk about my dad and it like he's there with us it's a lovely feeling. The pain will get easier I assure you but it does take time, your in my thoughts love alaina |

Carol I am pleased that Gerry's funeral went off OK and that the verse you chose ( a favourite of mine) gave you comfort. It is also good that you were able to share Christmas with Gerry's parents.. And I am sure that Gerry will have 'looked in' on you. Talking about loved ones who have passed on is a way of keeping their spirits alive so it is good that you and Gerry's Mum can talk, despite the occasional tear. You continue to remain in my thoughts. Ann Glos |

Hello Carol, I am sure that death is not the end. I believe we go back to where we came from before we were born. I read a leaflet at the cancer hospital my husband attends:- "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; We are spiritual beings having a human experience." With kind thoughts, Kathy |

Gerry`s funeral was on Christmas Eve at 11am. It was a short service at the crematorium, with just family and a close friend. Gerry`s parents, 3 sisters, uncle and his wife. Parents, uncle and 2 sisters live locally, other sister about 3 hours drive away. My parents, my son and our very good friend who all drove over 100 miles to be with us. The minister read out the verse entitled The Next Room, which I chose. My parents were worried I would be on my own on Christmas Day, but I went to mother in law`s for Christmas lunch. There was only his parents, myself, youngest sister in law and her son, so not too crowded. The great thing, is that Gerry`s mum and myself can talk about him with ease. There are occasions when one of us fills up or gets the sniffles, but that is to be expected. I feel sure that Gerry is having a whale of a time in the spirit world. He comes back now and then, I have felt his presence, and the dog has certainly seen him. He has been barking at apparently nothing, which is something he never did before. Thank you all again for all your support |
