Hi Suzi - I would think that if you telephone the hospital in Shrewsbury and ask for the Bereavement Office they will be able to point you in the direction of the appropriate Register Office. I dont live in Shrewsbury unfortunately, but there cannot be too many offices there. The reason I say ask for the Bereavement Office is of course that they direct the recently bereaved to the Registrar's office following a death, and will have the required information to hand. Dont forget to tell them when you were born as maybe the Registrar's Office address will have changed over the years although the records will have moved with them. Hope you have some luck - if all else fails, follow the advice given by the other person on this thread who has had to apply for a copy of her marriage cert. for a passport. Good luck Jacqui

Hello, congratulationson your forthcoming marriage. If you dont have a copy of your birth cert. is it because you are not in contact with your parents, or you dont know where you were born? If you know where you were born (i.e. the address either hospital, house etc) then its very likely I think that the register office nearest to that address would be the place where your birth was registered. If you write to them with your birth date, and all other information such as mothers name etc they should be able to help you out. Unfortunately as you didnt put much info. on the board about yourself and your current circumstances only general information can be offered. If you tell the members a little bit more about yourself, then I am sure someone will point you in the right direction. Jacqui
