since starting a family tree I seem to have a different outlook on some of the things we collect that have no value, the sort of things you would put in a time capsule for future generations........ icing flowers off my brothers wedding cake and order of service , order of service for mothers funeral.Letters My husband sent me when he worked away .Receipts for my 3 childrens weddings.Weight cards from when they were babies..( most mothers keep these anyway) to name but a few, does anyone else feel the need to collect items lynn |

Since starting my family tree, I too, have been saving many things. Driver's licences as they expire, passports, receipts, cards, letters, you name it, I've been saving it from anyone in the family I can get it from! My aunt recently passed away and going through her things I found the most amazing things that at the time, others would have thrown out. She left some wonderful pieces of history that I've perserved for future generations to learn from and enjoy. Judy |

It's certainly made me more aware of things. We have an old childrens book that belonged to my grandmother. I've told my youngest daughter, whose 12, to make sure she keeps it! Also we want to leave lots of stuff to make 'family trees' easier to do. |
