Susie, Priory Road, that's it. Had a room in one of the houses up there - No 10 I think, last time I wandered up there it was a clinic for eating disorders. Len, you be careful when going into Wycombe as they've changed all the roads - and removed access to some completely. I was totally lost the first time I went back after who knows how many years. The traffic is now like driving in London, everyone for himself - if it's moving that is! LOL I remember Hammersley Lane was supposed to be haunted, something about a coach and horses. Was looking on a map the other night and as you used to go up Hammersley Lane on the right on the bend, there were a few houses and then access to some woods. Not now by the looks of it, it's all roads. |

trish the road leading up to the cemetary is priory rd,i think lol the open air swimming pool is still there, and dennis the only thing i caught in the rye was tadpoles lmao i remember my son going there armed with fishing net and bucket.he came home with thousands of tadpoles!!! hubby had to go and buy a pond and spent all weekend digging a hole in the garden to put it in lol they eventually grew into frogs and deserted us....untill the following year, when they returned only to find that their pond had disappeared!! susie |

Denis, I remember the Palace and Odeon well. Started married life living at ---forgotten the name of the road now!! Behind the Church in Wycombe, the road that goes up to the cemetery. My parents house was on the main London Road just by the corner of Hammersley Lane. Do they still have the open air swimming pool on the Rye anybody? And do fish still survive in the river there? Used to be lovely walking along there in the summer. |

Hi Denis, Can't help with the places you mention as Mum & Sis moved there fairly recently, so I'm just a visitor from the West Country ! I had a friend who lived in Totteridge though - very posh area ! Used to drink by the duck pond on the main road - was it the Orange Tree pub ? Might havebeen Totteridge Lane - was a long time ago & my memory is awful ! Rick. |

Hi Susie, That whole area's nice. We quite often go walking there when I'm up visiting my family. Just looked on the map and Buckland Common isn't quite the same place as Buckland, though they're not far apart - they're on opposite sides of the A41. Rick. |
