Trish you posted at the same time as me there! Yes that was her, very strick, she taught handwriting and wrote on my report how bad mine waswhich made us laugh because it took ages to work out what she'd actually written. My cousin often talks about the old RE teacher that was still there when I was. Do you remember Polly Parrott? lol Sheila |

Yes, the boys part was still seperate when I was there but I remembered the other school now that I was thinking about further up and that was Wellsbourne which some of my other cousins went to. Personally, I couldn't wait to get out of the Prison on the Hill but looking back now...it wasnt so bad! Sheila |

I escaped Hatters Lane in 71 (a day early as I prended that I had a doctors appointment on the actual leaving day). I couldn't get out of there fast enough! Really hated it. Can't remember the headmistress's name but she was a single lady, very strict. Even the misbehaved were wary of her. |

I was released from Hatters Lane in 1977. Miss Barfield was the headmistress. (I think) I remember a headmaster at Spring gardens but couldnt tell you his name! My cousins Marian was also there but left 1969. What was the other secondary school called further up the hill? Sheila |

Denis You raised an interesting point (although, as suggested, it would pay you to go to the Tips Board). I do not think you will be able to get any census information post 1901 due to the 100 year rule. It may, though, be possible to use the Electoral Roll, if access is obtainable. Does anyone know if this is available at Wycombe Library? I am prepared to go and ask if no one knows. With regard to the heart condition, its hard to do but usually a complete change of lifestyle and eating is called for. Len |

Denis Morning!! Why don't you pop your message on the 'Tips Board' or the 'Records Office' Board? A wider group of people will see it. Hope you are keeping well. Kind Regards Sarah. |

Hello everyone Have just got back from a meeting in Wycombe, of a Cardiac Support Group (500 members). The speaker was a pharmacist and gave an interesting talk on the various drugs we have to take. Last month the Speaker was Dr Clifford, the Consultant at Wycome and Hammersmith Hospitals. Anyone want details of the group just ask. I had 3 heart attacks in 1996/7 followed by two or three years of angina and all the usual problems. By doing exactly what the medics told me, have made a complete recovery and take no cardiac medicaments at all and celebrated my 80th birthday on Sunday. Had a party at the Lambert Arms in Lewknor and can fully recommend their excellent service. My next party will be in 2114, anyone like to come. Many thanks to all those who sent me birthday greetings. Len |

hi denis my word you have been through it aint ya:( as they were doing hubbys angiogram his artery ruptured, otherwise he would have had to have waited 6mths for his stent.so in a way it was a good thing it did!! it was panic stations all round though for a few moments. you'll be ok though denis, your from bucks!!! a born fighter. when you visit wycombe you'll have to give us a call and we could have a coffee, hubby and me are both non drinkers next to hubbys bed was a computer and he asked the nurse if he could use it for the day...lol bet you know wat the answer was lol susie |
