Hi Paul Yes I'm North Bucks - Buckingham itself to be exact - about as far North in Bucks as you can get before you hit Northant or Oxfordshire.

Susie Actually, its quite interesting. The patient is wide awake and can watch the proceedings on the monitor, although one doesn't get a good view as they won't let you lift your head. I complained that I was of a nervous disposition but would be alright if a good-looking nurse would hold my hand - they produced a very large male nurse and asked if he would do. Its usual to insert a stent at the same time, if one is required It is a very debilitating process, though. Wycombe hospital now is able to do angiograms. Dr Clifford, the consultant, visits our support group from time to time and reckons they will soon be self-sufficient. The support group meets at the Broomwade Sports and Social Club, Hughenden Valley, each month on the third Tuesday, 7.30pm. Len

Hi Elaine Mary sends her regards. She used to work with your mum at Lyons Systems so remembers her well, whereas I knew your Dad better. I also knew Donna as she and Lucy, my daughter, used to get together a lot. Lucy now lives with Simon her husband in Somerset with their children James (5) and Flora (3), 2 dogs, 2cats and a flock of chickens. I heard today that James got a finger broken in the car door. hi all elaine yea,what a distaster that will be,especially for young families mine are all grown up now but i have got grandchildren (although im still in my prime)lol the scbu unit is fantastic!! my eldest son was in the unit 27 years ago,it had only been open 6mths at the time,but they were fantastic the care he had was second to none sarah did you enjoy the prison site didnt hannah look so old for her 35 years,poor lady:( susie

Closing the Childrens ward is all down to politicians. They closed Booker Hospital to make £9 million to pay off debts and get Wycombe out of the red. Now they regret it as Booker was very useful for geriatrics and long-stay patients who now have to be accommodated in Wycombe clogging up the beds The debts are mounting up again and the next move is to close Amersham and make a fast buck by selling the site to developers. After a few years back to square one again and what else to sell? Close Wycombe and ship patients to London or Oxford? Len

Susie, my dad's fine thanks, didn't need a stent, just on medication now. He's doing fine, although is beginning to feel his age now, but then he is 78 this year ! I think its awful to even consider closing a childrens ward. The SCBU unit in Milton Keynes struggles somewhat too. The nurses do what they can, but they're over stretched at times and often have to transfer babies to other hospitals (when my son was there, a couple that had premature twins got sent to Wolverhamption for 2 weeks !!).

Hello Sarah. Yep. Sunday. Lunch for about 24 people at a local inn, then afterwards at my son's house in Stoken. Our house will be full of people over the week-end .
