Why is it that of the 23,255 Evans on this site, only 1 belongs to me? and why is it that of the 19,724 Kings on this site, again only 1 belongs to me? am I alone in this? I am getting nowhere fast (but possibly faster than yesterday!!) Jacqui

You are not alone. The sheer size of the numbers you show, indicates that there are many others out there. Badger Bill Worthing nb I have Kings on my tree

Hi Jacqui, could I swap names with you??? I have King's in my family and as you say there are lot's but all my male line are all John KING, IT'S A NIGHTMARE.(sorry for shouting) but sometimes I feel like pulling my hair out.I think I'll have to move to Bristol to make it a bit easyer. Jill

Don't worry Jacqui, One of those Kings is mine, as is one of the Evans' (though he's only the first husband and not really related to me!) Of the 25.896 Johnsons, 7 are mine!! Having said that, of the 5 Scraggleford's (2 Hannah's and 3 William's - 1 Hannah in my tree), both Hannah's are the same person, and none of the William's have any details, but are probably Hannah's father! Anyone would think Hannah never had any children! Maggie

My Evans is only a witness name on a Marriage Cert - but I would like to know more about him and where he lived, etc. He is Robert Gleadowe De Lacy Evans. The marriage took place in 1876 in Hammersmith - but I can find no other trace of Robert anywhere. Is there anyone who can claim him or tell me anything about him? Any info gratefully received. Rosi

There's 5775 Cross's on the board, but only 2 are mine. My grandmother who was born in NZ and her father who was born in the UK. I have only just found out about him, so I'm hoping someone else looking for family of Cross will maybe know something.

I have Davies in my line but I am not even going there yet! It's bad enough with the other names trying to tie them together. One name - Thornbury - has 29 of which one is mine, You would think that with so few that at least one other would be connected! But ooooh no. Jacky

I have Sainthill Lindseys in my tree - which I thought was fairly unusual - and was thus delighted to find another tree containing the name Sainthill Lindsey in GC. But, alas, neither his 'owner', nor me, can find a connection between our two trees yet - try as we might, and much as we feel there must be one. Hers was born in 1847 in Devon, and mine in 1845 in Marylebone.
