I am interested in a Michael Elligett/Elliget. Born Ireland 1828. He could have been involved in the Crimean war. I dont know what regiment he was in before being pensioned off and joined the 2nd Surrey Militia. Some time between 1871-1881 he had left the Militia and joined the Corps of Commissionaires in which he was still employed in 1891 he was dead by Feb 1893. listed on the 1871 census as Head, Mar, 42, Chelsea pensioner hope some on has access to Records. Regards Diane. x |

Thank you so much for that Michele. Do you or any one out there, know how to order a death cit on line. What info would it give me please.? I have been in touch with the Chelsea Hospital museum with little luck, it looks like Kew may hold the answers. I have no idea how to start looking, do they do look ups at a price? look forward to any advice. Kind regards Diane. |

Hi Diane - No Kew won't search for you. I have a Chelsea Pensioner and I think his records, if they survive, are on microfilm. We had a quick look last time we were there but ran out of time. As there are 58 other chaps all with the same name it might be a long haul! If you give the PRO a call they are very helpfull and will point you in the right direction - failing that have a look at the Soc. of Genealogists site. Good Luck - Sue |

Dear Diane, or any one who can help, we need to know it the person we have located in Fitchburg M.A. is indeed my husbands father, we would be able to know exactly by knowing if Roger J. Boucher served in R.A.F. Sealand in North Wales in the late 1950s. So access to any records would be of help. Many thanks Rosx |
