Hello Mike Me old duck You have been so busy looking up for me I don't know how I can thank you.The William that you have just got the details for can not be the William in Countesthorpe cemetary that you so very kindly took a photo of the head stone, because the one in Countesthorpe died aged 40 and it said on the headstone he died the year 1810. But the one you took a photo of is mine I just needed to verify his parent's and you have done that for me, I don't think a headstone would give the wrong year at least not ten years out. So Mike you have solved my problem. I think the parents for my William were from Cold Ashby that had been passed down from generations but I had been given information that Williams parent's were William and Elizabeth from Knighton, but that does not fit. I have had a look on family search and there is one from Naseby and that could be the one I want so it is Northants I have to go now, the year is 1770 for his birth, but Mike how do I prove that is his parent's. What other information do I need to be able to prove it?? Thanks a million for all your time

Greeting’s Louise in Livingston. . . . . The Search for Joseph Clamp. Born Osbaston. c.1822 ? Father of Joseph born in Ibstock. I’ve found a Clamp Family living 1.7 miles due south from Osbaston. On the 1841.Census In an area called “ Bull in the Oak” which is on the A447 from Coalville to Hinckley. The Family is as follows :- John Clamp. Head. 45. Farmer. Sarah. Wife. 45. Elizabeth. Dau. 10. William. Son. 5. Jane. Dau. 3. George. Son. 6 mths. In the entry above the last one there is a Mary Baysby.45. Farmer. Interestingly there is an Ann Clamp 14. Female Servant. With her. But no sign of Joseph who would be aged 19. Maybe he’s in an other part of the County. As I see he married Catherine from Sileby. Anyway you now have some more Clamps to add to your list. MIKE.

" YET MORE RINGROSE's. . ." But I think your going to like this one . . . Sue. . . . From the Original registers at Records Office Wigston. . . . 11.D71. 5 page 15. BAPTISM. . . 23th. July. 1780. WILLIAM SON OF WILLIAM & ELIZABETH RINGROSE Signed J.D.ROSS. Curate. . . St. Mary Magdalene. St. Mary Magdalene Church was the main Church for the Parish of Knighton. St Michael & All Angels opened in 1789 and closed in 1998. So It looks like that is the Church for all your Baptism's and Marriages in Knighton then. . . . . Jan. . . . . If that person is still stuck then let me know & I'll see what I can do. . . . . MIKE.

Mike I very nearly offered your services to a lady on the records board looking for Leicester baptisms, but I suddenly thought perhaps you wouldn't want all and sundry deluging you with requests so I haven't done anything about it! Sue Had my first Leic & Rutland FHS journals today and the name that leapt out at me from the members' interest pages was....RINGROSE! I seem to notice it everywhere! Jan from Donington in a downpour! (thunder and lightening at no extra cost!)

Lou In Livingston I've been to London Road cemetery, a sad and neglected place. There are still large headstones and monuments standing and just a few very small headstones on the lines T.R. 1895. There were no headstones for William BURTON but I did find this inscription: In Loving memory Sarah, wife of the late George Burton of Whitwick, died Nov 21 1912 aged 69 years Also their dearly loved son L Corp Harold Sidney Killed in action May 26th 1915 aged 42 years Jan

Yeah Mike, I'm sure he's the right one on the 1881 as I have him on that and the 1891 and 1901... all with his wife, Susannah and various children and all at Hugglescote and Donnington. Joseph is aged 21, 31, and 41 respectively and is a coal miner b. Ibstock on each. More to the point my Grt Grandfather Reuben is on the 1901 with them aged 8. Thanks for taking time to look anyway. Lou
