Have a look at gidiet(.)com. It's working for me.

The Scarsdale medical diet worked for me and my mother, can't say we exercised either. We are now just keeping to the keep trim guidelines, and keeping the weight off after 2 years. Val

Slimming World advocate food combining eg: not mixing protein and carbohydrates. So Pasta & rice & baked potatoes one day and steaks, ham salad's, chicken and so on the next. Difficult for lunches though. Currently doing weight watchers which is basically calorie counting and low saturated fats. You are supposed to have at least 2000 calories a day but also need to check the saturated fat content of food. Most things indicate how much is in it. I've lost 8lb's since 5th Jan so something's working. Are you eating enough? If you don't eat enough food, your body worries that it might not get fed for a long time so it hangs onto the fat instead of shedding it. Good luck Naomi

My son who is a fitness trainer (not taking after me!! lol) has put a number of folks onto the scarsdale diet, based on healthy low fat eating, and said it worked for most people who stuck to it. However there was one lady who proved an exception although she was doing exercise, and it was eventually found that she had a wheat intolerance, so by following a gluten free diet her problem was solved. Hi Carly Try drinking at least 1.5 litres to 2 litres of water a day as this aids weight loss. Also, try joining a club, I have lost 8.5 lbs with Weight Watchers since 7 January. Michelle

Hi Carly, Counting calories is hard! Try Weight Watchers. I did their 'at home' programme, and it's based on all food having points. If you're over 10 stone, you're allowed 21 points a day and when you join they send you a counter, recipe books and a booklet that lists all the best sellers from supermarkets (ready meals etc) and what the points are. I lost the two stone that I'd put on after the birth of my daughter, in just six months. I also worked out to a Rosemary connelly video three times a week. I'm pleased to say that I still loosely follow the 'plan' (five years later) and have since lost another half a stone and now am a happy healthy 9 and a half stone. All the best of luck, with whatever you do, Carly Steph ;-)
