Hi Colin and Tracey.....just passing through and saw Tracey's latest dilemna. If Adaware found it, delete it. Make sure you do a virus definitions update and then scan your computer using your anti-virus. If nothing is found, you should be ok as apparently, what ever Adaware found got rid of it. Had it been a virus, your anti virus would have picked it up.....but run the scan just to be on the safe side. Judy :) Tracey....I left you a message on another thread you were at today under TIPS...

Hi Colin I have just read all the way through this thread. I am on Tony's computer because mine has gone in to the 'doctor'. Saturday am before going off to Hampshire to our daughters I read my e mails as usual. Nothing strange on there, didn't do anything unusual and shut the computer down as normal. Sunday evening when we got back, swithed the computer on ....nothing. It would not even open at all. I am waiting to know exactly what it was but my nice man said it was a type of virus, not infected by emailing. I think he was simplifying it for me don't you? I suspect it was some sort of dialer or hacker (and I don't agree with you I'm afraid, I can't admire people who cost me money and, what is worst, inconvenience). I have Norton and run adaware. Trojan has expired. My man is going to put a programme on that is part freeware and part share ware (don't ask me what), all I want now is for him to finish it and return it to me. I don't like using Tony's machine and don't have access to it all the time anyway because he wants to fly aeroplanes!!! Cheers, hope you solve Tracy's problem between you and Judy anyway. Ann Glos

Oh Colin Big hug......and many many thanks for your advice. I had been pushing the No box, then one day our son-in-law saw me doing it and said if it was him he would have pressed the 'yes' box, so I have been doing so ever since. But, as you may guess, I really didn't know what I was pressing yes to. It came up so frequently that it was getting very annoying. From now on then - it's a 'no-no' Yes, through following your 'column' on here I have downloaded Adaware, and it's super. My 'puter had got very slow, and now it is back to how it should be. When it quaratines things, is it quite safe to delete everything that it quaratines please? Many thanks again Colin, you are a 'STAR' And I do apologise for butting in on Tracey's troubles.
