do you think thats why we do it our own personal private detective stories. And perhaps thats why other people yawn and glaze over when you talk to them about it. Kim |

Just think! If you were royalty you wouldn't be able to do it because your family tree would be public knowledge already. Bob |

For the last 2 nights I've had dreams where I see birth certificates or newspaper articles regarding rellies I'm stuck on, Ive got to the stage where I keep a note pad next to my bed so I can wake up and write any details down that I can remember from the dream! madness really especially as last night the birth certificate I found in my dream was given to me in Argos! Dont worry I will be calling the men in white coats tomorrow! |

And if there was a cure would you take it?? No of course you wouldn't because it makes you happy --(sometimes), frustrated --(often), and in your case David it keeps you fir because you walk the dog twice --so you have a happy dog too Lol. and wouldn't it be disappointing if we suddenly came to the end? No not the only one I seem to live in the past . When I ask or tell my mother some info she says things like "thats a bit far back isn't it or why do you want to go that far back." but its sort of addictive like alcohol. And aren't those certificates with unreadable old writing nice ...... Sorry gone into a dream world now. where are the men in white coats. KIM |

Hi David, I guess we could start a club for "Sundowners", ie., non-stop thinking after dark "I wonder what tomorrow's post will bring? Will it be the right certificate? Will I get a letter confirming that I have the right relative?" I almost lie in wait for the postman these days. Also my husband thinks I now speak in abbreviations ie.FRC and PRO, etc. It's a whole new language only understood by those on the inside!! Sue |

No David, you are not the only one. There are at least two us, you and me. I even dream about finding lost relatives. I wake in the middle of the night and my mind is in a whirl trying to sort out all the names I should be looking for. I really don't think there is a cure for this 'bug' as Colin calls it. Once you have caught it that's it and the thing is it is never ending. Have you ever met anyone who has finished their family history? Jean. |
