Rose Ella's version is on the 'Lady Sings the Blues' CD. I think it is a much better version of this song - but then, that's just my opinion! Janet

How difficult is this!? Only 8? Oh well ....... here goes ..... Need your love so bad Fleetwood Mac Misty Blue Ella Fitzgerald Free Bird Lynyrd Skynyrd Lilac Wine Elkie Brooks Jealous Guy John Lennon Private Investigations Dire Straits I'd rather go blind Ruby Turner I don't love you anymore Quireboys LOVED your choices Maggie ........ and Rose ........ interesting, as we've chosen two identical songs, but with different artistes! Derek in France - The VERY first record I EVER bought - and it was a 78 rpm (!) was Danny and the Juniors 'At the Hop'! Shutup now Janet .... you're showing your age! :o)

HiHi Margaret hello, lovely to hear that old word ‘Records’ i.e. Analogue sound rules OK! :-) All my stuffs on Vynil ? err Vynal ? well even if I can’t spell what it’s on., at least it’s proper ‘Sound’ not this digital convenience junk they reshape the music with now. Will go and dig out the Suntan cream, Tequila and, … well we got the music so think that will do! :-) Wish you hadn’t mentioned Charlie Drake it will take me day’s to get “Please Mr Custer,… I don’t want to go!” out of my head :-) Andy, “a Challenge”!!!! You some kind of masochist!!??? I’m still suffering withdrawal symptoms and a guilty conscience over the stuff I will have to leave behind! :-) Word of warning if you have not heard the Live version, you are in for a 'Kultur shock', the American Stars & Bars cut is, err, um, just not there! (check out Powderfinger & Cortez the Killer off ‘Live Rust’ whilst your there). Being the founder (& only! :-( ) member of the ‘Analogue Counter Revolutionary Movement’ I strongly recommend you catch it in Analogue if you can, I heard it once in Digital and was looking for a shotgun so I could get the ####### who remixed the sound; but then I’m prejudiced! :-) All the Best Peter

Peter, Delighted to take you up on your kind offer. Records are packed up. Could do with some chill out time on a nice Island. Was trying to think of daft records, but could only come up with: Im too heavy for the light brigade..... Charlie Drake. Can think of hated records, like 'The Birdie Song, and the like. Maggie

Linda, It was a difficult choice, there are probably 3 or 4 Floyd tracks that I would have in a Top 50. "Wish You Were Here" just missed the cut. Peter, Arghh, it wouldn't be a challenge then! But some fine choices (I'll have a look for that live version of "Like A Hurricane" on Kazaa), I liked Vanessa's also.

This is not a nudge, although Andy's thread deserves better than page two this mornig. My obsevation is that I should have waited, some of your choices made me feel I want to start again. Not a lot of humourous choices, and you might be able to read the selectors age by their choice. Isn't music wonderful. Have a nice day, Derek in France
