And she did not know what he looked like. I found his WW1 Navy Record and told her that her dad was 5' 4" tall, dark hair, fair skin and had a mole on his chin - I was amazed - and - it was my first visit to Kew! (I thought all my investigations at Kew would be that easy - silly me!). I thought I would share it with you. KAty Cox |

Hello Vivien and Ken - thank you for replying. Another line of research which turned out well was when I was looking for mum's cousins - that she had never met (on her mum's side) and wrote to everyone in Devon with the surname that I was looking for (I am making a short story long - hold on) they all replied and are all related - 12 cousins (all brothers and sisters) - the surname = Crummey -there was a total of three in the phone book!!!! thanks again for your warm wishes Katy |
