How very sillyphophical, John! Mike. I'm not very familiar with the part of the county you mention - although I've obviously heard of those places. I live on the eastern side of the county, very close to the Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire borders. I believe that the places you refer to are nearer to the Warwickshire border? Poor Hayley! A serious question, with (mostly) non-serious answers. I'm sure that whatever you decide to do will be made so much easier by the insight you've gained while studying for your PhD. Just follow your heart - what do you really WANT to do? THAT is the question! Where do your interests lie - what are your hobbies - that should give you a clue. Have you a head for business, or do you like to 'help' people? Whatever ladder you decide to climb, enjoy the journey to the top. If you're not enjoying each step, then you're probably on the wrong ladder, so you will just have to find another one and start again. Just bear in mind that life happens while we are busy making plans, so make your initial decision and then go with the flow. It's quite an exciting time for you really - like an artist starting with a blank canvas - with everything to look forward to. The choice is yours ........... thanks for all you who gave serious replies, to answer a few of your questions, i took philosophy because i enjoyed it at a level, and i dont know why people take degrees without knowing what job they want to do with them. Maybe they just took them to avoid getting a job straight away.
