I've just started transcribing for freebmd and realise now how difficult it can be to read even typed pages. Those old fashioned typists obviously never cleaned their typewriter keys as some characters are just blobs!!! Never, Never again will I moan about something being transcribed wrong. |

Yes, there should be a rule that you can't look at FreeBMD till you've transcribed a few pages - that'd shut 'em up. |

Here, here! I started transcribing a couple of months ago, and have found it hardest to work out the numbers for pages. on the other hand isn`t it great when you see something you transcribed on the site, knowing it might just be the reference someone has been searching for for ages? (Many thanks to the transcriber who did births 1879 June quarter A surnames!). Rebecca :-) |
