John, You could try www(.)policeorders(.)uk or www(.)victorianlondon(.)org/police But they're only sketchy. You can't really beat Kew, I got a physical description of my G x2 Grandfather who joined in 1850, his referee, retirement date and pension. Maggie |

Can anybody help me,i am trying to get information on my great great grandfather who joined the metropolitan police in 1847.James moseley born 1824 i believe was a pc,warrant no24620,i am told more information might be available from PRO at Kew,however i am unable to get there . any ideas or suggestions, please help. j.e. mace |
