I know how you feel, i've just started to tackle my Smith's and i am doing it very slowy, getting thier certificates then tracing them in the census and i do that for each generation.One certifcate gave me enough information to go back two generations so i feel quite lucky. Steve. |

just wondering how far back date wise have people got in searching for their ancesters. i have been quite lucky really i have gone back to 1150 he was a knight from france who helped queen margerate of scotland .she gave him some land at northumberland where he built a castle .this is all on my grandfather blood line .but my grandmother was a smith from durham i feel like throwing the towel in even befor i start there is thousands of them where do i start . |
