Hiya Holiday companies seem to love people like me - the single person, cos they can slap the supplements on, just to rub it in that your billy no mates and that your single and no one wants to go on holiday with you :-( I desprately need a holiday but refuse to pay all the supplements, and I also want a quiet relaxing veg out holiday with the sun shining down on, without sharing my holiday with everyone elses aim of the holiday in getting drunk 24/7 and getting laid 24/7 (I sound 60 not 30!) anyone got any suggestions?

have you heard of the group/club spice????? Spice meaning Special Programme of Initiative Challenge and Excitement No it isn't bungee jumping and extreme sports, it also has many holidays where you are alone but in groups, if you see what I mean. www(.)Spiceuk(.)com needless to say without the brackets SAndi

What about Island hopping in Greece, you pay for your flight and jump on a ferry to a nearby Island, the hotel owners are all waiting for prospective guests with plackard boards with their hotel photos/location/price ect and they take you in their own little bus themselves ,you can get accomadation for around £10 per night, you can stay for as long or as little as you like. Ask your travel agent for more details, lots of people i know have done this and had a fantastic time.

Karen, Languedoc Roussillon is a lovely area of France - warm, relaxed (no yobs!) lots of history - also very cheap flights to the area through Ryanair to several airports. Plus very nice little hotels through http://www.logis-de-france(.)fr/uk We've used these several times as stopover hotels driving down to Spain. Would definitely recommend the village of Le Boulou we've stayed there several times - very pretty spa village, close to the sea and easily accessible trips into Spain and Andorra. Emma

Last year I went to San francisco by myself. return flights aprox £280 return room less than $50 (30) per night. Booked it over the internet hence no other fees. And a great city. I also camped out on the coast for $1 per night. take your own tent etc. Could not be better. Bob
