My little girl (2) has just come to me plastered in red lipstick and spray on glitter telling me she is beautiful. Whilst I can't dispute that, I checked the bathroom and the carpet certainly isn't! I am not sure of how to get it out to leave the least stain. Can anybody help, please, pretty please! Regards Abigail

Hi Wendy, Sorry that I don't have any useful advice about the lippy (I'm normally very careful with mine), but I have to congratulate you for one of the best thread titles you're ever likely to see on a genealogical website !!! Rick.

Whatever you find to remove lipstick will also remove shoe polish. Chemically they are the same, it's only the colouring and fragrances which differ.

Try: Scrape up as much excess as possible. Rub over the area with a fresh slice of white bread. Use dry-cleaning fluid. - Hope this helps! Michelle Melson

Thanks for the advice, the carpet is slowly improving. I just wish I could post a picture of her covered in it! "Beautiful" she said! Well I suppose she still was! Regards Abigail
