Did they actually have "pop music" in 1948 ?????? If so, I have no clue who,or what was no.1 . Probably was Vera Lyn or some other "oldtimer". Are there any other really old people around here???? LOL Bill :0) |

Diane, I knew there had to be some good bands releasing hits in 75! One of my fave albums, Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd was released that year. I'm from Saltburn, between Middlesbrough and Whitby. I've already heard from someone from New Zealand saying that they used to live in Saltburn! Roller Strollers? Oh dear, lol. |

What a fun site.. My song is.. Glad all over by the Dave Clark Five... its what I call Fossil music... much rather have The Beatles or Cilla Black. Those tartan pants your'e talking about were called "ROLLER STROLLERS". Those boys would have been great in a toothpaste ad... Andy, I used to live oop North until I came to Oz. 75 was a great year for music, Pilot sang January, there was Come up and see me make me smile by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, Not in Love by 10CC, Rod sang Sailing and Queen were HUGE..... aah memories... Helen Shapiro - fantastic voice. I've got a 1961 copy of Walking Back To Happiness on 45 (stolen from my Dad). Good vintage '61 - same year I was born ;-) |
