I know one similar to one started- Had a little bumper car, number 48, And I took it round the corner (go round outside of one holder) To the garage (round again) How many gallons did it take? 1,2,3, etc And another that was used for a different game too: 2,4,6,8, Mary's at the cottage gate, Eating cherries off a plate, 2,4,6,8. |

Blue bells Cockle shells Evy Ivy over. On the first two lines you jump over the rope then the turners turn it on Evy Ivy over! |

All in together girls This fine weather girls When I count to twenty The rope must be empty Again this was when two girls were turning the rope, while a number of other girls had to run in and then run out again. Don't know if the rhyme should be longer, but this is the only part I can remember. Norah |

Me too Naomi! Although I think I need more than a sports bra, more like a strait jacket! LOL Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch the ground. Teddy bear, teddy bear, turn around. Teddy bear, teddy bear, climb the stairs. Teddy bear, teddy bear, say your prayers. Teddy bear, teddy bear, switch out the light. Teddy bear, teddy bear, say goodnight. Obviously this has to be done when others are holding the rope! When you say goodnight you run out from the rope without tripping over! :o( Sue |

Can anyone remember rhymes we used to sing whilst skipping with a rope? My five year old neice is just starting to skip and I can only remember one: Apple Crumble Apple Tart, Tell me the name of your sweetheart A, B and so on.. PS- I picked up the skipping rope, did two jumps before deciding I needed a sports bra and oxygen mask! |
