Appologies if this has been done before, but what is the funniest thing you have come across whilst looking on the censuses? I was looking last night on the 1901 and came across Mozart Wilson, age 50 and living in York, occupation......... Musician!!!!!!!!! |

Whilst trawling through the names on the 1901 I found a certain 11 year old with occupation listed as 'under detention in school' Cant remember the surname now though as I was looking for someone on the boards. Penny |

Not the census, but I have a Certificate for Wounds & Hurts from the Navy for my grandfather dated 1927. He sustained an injury to his hand. The cause was "striking another man on the jaw" - made me laugh ! I should say he was a boxer and this happened in a competition ! Rick. |
