We had problems with a 7yr old and 14yr old and their mother for years! The father was actually a police officer. Tried talking, shouting and then asking advise from a solicitor. I do so much feel for you. I would look up your local council and find the Anti Social Behaviour Teams number and speak to them they will advise you what to do. Good luck and I hope you all keep safe. We have to put our foot down at some point. |

Kylie, if the mother is the sort you can talk to , do that, but I would have a word with the local police. As he is only 8, his parents are responsible for him and the police will explain to them that they have to deal with his actions. This boy obviously has anger problems, things will only get worse as he gets older. Also, if he goes to the same school as your son, report him to the head, they may say it is not their problem as it happened outside school, but if he does anything like this in school, they can't say they were not warned. I would tell his mother. If I was his mother I would be very anxious to know so that I could sort it out. Also if there is a big age difference you could say that her boy is so extremely rough that he is too dangerous for your little boy to play with, so perhaps they should stay apart for now. Or make an excuse to sit outside and watch them play, eg, gardening, hanging washing, getting them to help you do chores. You could invite him a couple of times to play and invite his mother for coffee at the same time, watch them closely and assuming that he behaves himself then invite him on his own. If he misbehaves march him and your son round to his mother and do the outraged and bewildered mummy/friend who does not know what has got into her little boy but what could have happened was so dangerous, etc, etc. I believe most mothers are grateful for the opportunity to sort this kind of behaviour out before it gets out of hand. You might also find out why he is like this, eg, has been bullied himself. If all fails, your little boy's life won't be a disaster without this boy for a friend. Good luck Abigail |

Watch that the little menace doesn't hit your son over the back of the head. My son was hit over the back of the head with the result he had double vision. We were in Africa at the time and fortunately just about to go on leave so that I could take him to a good eye hospital. My son had to wear glasses and the doctor said that it might go over in six months or he would remain impaired. On the way back to Africa my "little dear" took off his glasses and sat on them! - boys boys boys Anyway he did get better and doesn't need glasses. The first we noticed that he had double vision was when he said "mum I can see everything twice". |

This kid, well he really would be living down under, if it was me, but then I am a welsh savage. seriously though it isn't funny, guess like the other member said, get your kid into self defence classes. |

i'd speak to the parents, it might help but i doubt it, some kids are just nasty, or perhaps he has problems at home and is venting his anger. not nice though and no excuse sandra |
