Dear Karen Thanks so much for replying, I really do appreciate it. I'm really sorry you are going through such a bad time, I hope that you are on the up very soon. I know that Kath has these awful times dropping things as well. I'm hoping they can get her medication sorted out, she was really frightened when she fell so ill on the last combination and very wary about going on to others. She gets tearful and angry too, although she tries to hide it when I phone. Other times she tries to be very positive. She is going to find out about Mobility and we are looking into all the financial and Social Services aspect. In fact the whole family is helping right now. Thank you for your offer of contact, She doesn't have a computer, but maybe it would be nice to have some contact, I will see what she thinks, even if it's via yours truly. Kath is very much into hugs!!! I will pass yours on and I know she would send one back to you, as I do. God bless you Lynda xx |

Lynda She need to apply soon rather than later because the paperwork takes ages then theres an assessment. However, once it's approved it opens the door to other types of help she'd be entitled to. She'll have to ask though because they don't give you the information. Sheila |

Sheila This what I told her today. Either her GP or someone will need to contact Social Services I think. My Neice is so good and has been popping over and doing some cleaning, but as she works full time & has a family of her own, Kath (my sister in law) feels guilty about it. |

Thanks for this Kathleen I am sure if she was keen, my Nephew would drive her there. He lives in Cornwall but would go anywhere for her. I have been looking at dietry requirements sites, but also wanted to find out first hand from people who have tried them. Are there details of the Polyclinic on a website? Lynda |

Sandra She is going through that now I'm afraid. She cannot do anything at present, her joints are so swollen that she can't even open a tin of beans, or turn on a tap. She spent the last 10 days in bed with this sickness, and has only been up for a few days. Thankfully she has great neighbours and a super daughter (she lives in wales) the rest of us are trying to do what we can, me doing things like this, others looking into benefits etc, she had to give up a job she loved, and is now on SSP only. She doesn't have a PC, so no access to email I'm afraid. But I am praying that there is something, either natural or convential that will allow her to live even a near normal life. I will pass on your message though, I am sure she will take comfort from it. Lynda Sorry Sandra, forgot!! I live in near Dyke Road Park in Brighton. I was born in Patcham and went to School at Lourdes Convent, near Preston Park. |
