Aimed really at anyone who's fairly knowledgeable about installing devices and drivers on Windows 98 second edition. Having a few probs trying to sort this out but after doing the initial setup, I plug the webcam in, whereupon it discovers new hardware. To start off with, it prompts for the Win98SE installation cd but it can't find a certain dll file. After finding out more info, I learned that if I downloaded and installed MS Media Player v9.0 then this would result in the dll file being on my hard drive. Did an uninstall and tried reinstalling the camera again and it prompted for the Win98SE cd once more. After getting it to look in the correct place for the dll file, it accepted it but then after that nothing happens. It should continue with searching for the drivers but doesn't. When I look in Device Manager, I can see the camera listed under Other Devices but there are exclamation marks present; I expected this as the process had not finished. Try installing drivers from there but it won't do it. Anyone with any past experience/advice? |
