	I'm sure I'm correct in saying that women began wearing trousers during WWII. My mother had the nickname "the woman in trousers", so I suppose not so many women wore them during the war.

	Yes, I know the land army wore them, but my mother was just a housewife. She must have been unique!

Member Since: June 2003 Posts: 520 Send Message	They must have been making trousers for women though in 'civvy street' as I remember buying a pair when I was still at school, from C & A (wasn't that a Dutch firm) so around 1946/7 time, and I got 'admonishd' when I wore them to school in the winter. 	My mother would have been wearing them in the war years - that would have been between 1939-1945. Yes, C&A are a Dutch company. Just cannot remember what the "C" and "A" stand for.
