No, not the same name - but I have discovered that my great-grandfather had the same birthday as me - except he was born exactly 100 years before me in 1846! Had he lived, I would have been born on his 100th birthday. Now wouldn't that have been a nice birthday present?! Janet

My daughter is HESSIE Coleman. One day her Grandma, HESSIE F. said, "That's funny, My granddaughter is called HESSIE Coleman and my grandmother was also a HESSIE Coleman !" Different Coleman families (wife's is from Ireland => Scotland, mine is from Germany => England) but it is still a funny thing to happen !

This is true. Through genes connected i have just down loaded a list of over 150 same names from a one name study. All of these names are that of my mothers maiden name. In that list there are just seven men listed they come from all over the country and every one of them is called ARTHUR. I have 5 Arthur's in my tree, only one of the seven is an ancestor, and my second name is -------ARTHUR

Sandra

i'm not likely to either, my grandfather made our surname using his middle name and last so addison-jones is very unlikely, so far all the ones on gc are mine. sandra

No ancestors with my name - so far! My grandaughter has the same names as my husband's G Grandmother and G G Grandmother although we didn't know this when she was born in 1997. Sue

I haven't found an exact match as my name isn't particularly common. But I was surprised to find a Jannet Greenley and a Nettie Greenley both in the mid 1850's. Jeanette
