I checked the rest of the bill and there was one shop I went into where the card may have been out of my sight for a few seconds. I suppose someone could have got my details ages ago but only decided to use them now. The site they used was based up north and they made three separate purchases! |

It is possible that it was 'skimmed' if you paid for a meal (for example), or anything where the card may have been out of your sight for a minute or two. It takes only seconds for it to be done. Always insist on your card being processed in your presence and sight. |

I opened the envelope containing my statement to find that someone had spent a tidy £3000 on computer equipment via an internet site! I hadn't lost my card so I can only assume that they had 'skimmed'my details somehow. I never draw cash using the card or use insecure sites and keep the card safe at all times.....has this happened to anyone else? Obviously I reported it to the credit card company and they are investigating the matter but I was LIVID at the dishonesty. Aileen |
