Hi Nina, We are going to Protaras. Its where we allways stay (Fig Tree Bay) There is alot of new build in Protaras at the moment so hope to snatch one up for rental, aslo my Father in law is retiring soon so he will be based over there for most of the year. It is going to be hard going but we have come into some inheritance and I have a policy maturing that my grandad started for me when I was just a week old! But if we dont get it rented then we will be broke as our income just about covers the bills as it is! We are remortgaging the house and just pray that we get enough holiday rentals! I love it in Aug, I have bad circulation and cant stand the cold (we even got the heating on now) so it warms me up for the rest of the year. Take care -Stacy x

I bet it will be a wonderful service and the church/cathedral itself will be impressive. I put "Greek Orthodox Baptism" in google and it came up with 1000s of sites. Have a good time!

Stacey, I have been to a Greek Baptism but that was over 20 years ago and all I can remember is having to cover our arms to go into the church and being given a small silver charm of The Virgin Mary with a pink ribbon, had it been a boy the ribbon would of course have been blue. There is a brief hint of what to expect from this womans account of her daughters Baptism http://www.childrenshopeint(.)org/newsletter/october02/baptism.htm Sue:-)

We are off to Cyprus in Aug for 3 weeks, the main reason is to visit my partners family, look for an apartment to buy but the biggest thing is that my son is going to be baptised - Greek Orthodox. My F.I.L. is Greek, my partner was baptised at the same age (4) over in Cyprus. I feel terrible but I havent got a clue what is going to happen? I dont know a thing about the service, and it will all be in Greek! I am religious myself (CofE) many people have asked why I would allow such a thing to happen? My response is 'Being blessed in any house of God, is a good thing' but i do feel that i have a responsibilty to my son to find out about the service and the principles so that i my teach him the way of this religion! Anybody know anything?
