Well the English Summer is here. The first test match of the summer is just about to start. Sorry to upset our Kiwi friends, but after the fine show we gave in the West Indies, I think we are in with a good chance in the series. It's a pity that Michael Vaughan is unable to play, but hopefully the new lad, Strauss, will be able to show the faith that the selectors have given him. Nice to see Geoff Boycott looking so well. Catch you all later Helen |

Helen I used to like cricket until I got the job of doing the teas this season! Hubby had 2 home matches lats weekend so spent the weekend up to my neck in food. On the plus side, whereas I would have normally had a bite to eat with the lads in the past, I couldn't actually bring myself to eat anything this time. Hopefully it will tell on my figure! As for England, fingers crossed. Shame about Michael Vaughen though. Jeanette |

Jeanette, I have done my share of cricket teas in the past. When Dad used to play, Mum and I used to do them. Saturday nights and Sunday mornings baking cakes and preparing salads, ooh those were the days. Helen |

Well not too bad on the first day, we managed to get 5 wickets but a few more would of been nice. I'm back at work tomorrow so I shall have to wait for the highlights programme to see what happens. Helen |

Helen There's only half an hours worth of highlights on Channel 4 but 2 hours on Sky. When the crickets on Sky you never see 2 hours worth of highlights on Channel 4 do you? Hubby stuck his fingers in his ears and shut his eyes when they reported it on the news. He intended to watch the highlights on Sky but his mate rang him and asked if he fancied a pint. By the time he gets back it'll have finished. Shall I tell him or shan't I? LOL Jeanette |

Oh Jeanette That's a hard one to answer, personally I would tell him all the scores and say that he shouldn't have gone for a pint and left you all alone, but then I would probably been tempted to go for a drink as well. lol. What do you think of the coverage on Four, some of the things they have introduced since they took over the coverage is good, but the commentators on Sky are so much better especially Beefy, David Lloyd and Michael Holding, hubby does a brilliant impersonation of Michael. I wasn't allowed to watch the Channel 4 highlights as he was still in and was going to watch Sky later. I don't mind him going for a pint cos it means I can come on here without him complaining! lol Are we the only ones who watch cricket then? Nobody else seems to be replying. Jeanette |

Must admit that's what I thought it was going to be about. What's the weather forecast for tomorrow then? Are we going to get any play? It's raining up here in Hull at the mo. |

Well what a fantastic day of cricket there has been today!!!!!!!!! I saw the highlights on Sky and it was brilliant, I wish I'd had a bet on Andrew Strauss scoring a 100 on his maiden test, well I can't wait for tomorrow's highlights (working again) Sunday is going to be hard as the Monaco Grand Prix is on as well and I missed Eastenders this week so God knows what I'm going to do. lol Helen |
