As a child we had to eat prunes(regularly !) We always said this rhyme to make the eating more fun.My dad also remembers this at school. Dont suppose many children eat the things nowadays though! Elaine. x

I remember the rhyme but not sure when I used it. Still in the habit of reciting the alphabet every day when I twist the stalk off my apple.

I married an accountant - dont recall ever getting to that button - can recall my mother hating sewing, and the bane of her life replacing buttons that had fallen off, so probably no buttons to count!! Actually, my husband says that I've inherited the same trait (another shirt in the rag bin then!) lol Jacqui

Do you remember counting the buttons on your coat, cardigan, etc. with the words tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor, richman, poorman, beggarman, thief. You were supposed to marry the one you ended up with. I didn't , did you?
