I took a wrong turning on my way to the Family Records Centre in Islington, having very carefully tried to stay out of the "red zone". Poetic justice or what!! Sue |

I travelled into central London last August and as I have not driven into London for many years, I wasn't sure how to pay the charge. I eventually assumed I would be sent a letter requesting the £5 charge. I then discovered that it had to be paid either before you entered the area or while you were there. I fully expected to get a fine, but when I contacted the Congestion Charge centre to offer my payment, I was told there wasn't any record of my registration number on the system ! ! I got away without paying. Has anyone else got away with it? |

My parents who live in Poole say two old ladies in their street who never go out of Poole let alone London have also had this problem. Apparently its something to do with the number plates being 'cloned' .Penny |

What people do is copy a number plate and put it on their car before entering the congestion charge zone. Most popular are black cab number plates as they do not get charged anyway. Hope you get it all sorted out. Lou |

Not had anything like this myself but there are plenty of people who do. Go to the BBC website and onto BBC London Radio. They have an excellent presenter Jon Gaunt who regualrly takes these issues up with Ken Livingstone etc. Hope it all turns out ok. |

Has anyone else had problems with these charges? My dad, living in Wiltshire, has now received 5 congestion charge bills, even though he hasn't been to London since we moved out 15 years ago. They all have the correct registration number, sometimes it's the correct car, other times it's a different car. They are all for different parts of London. His local MP has got involved, and he's now been interviewed for Radio 4 - fame at last! We've all had a good laugh and all the jokes have been made, but it's quite stressful for an older person to receive these letters and have to take the time to get it sorted out. My mum is pretty sure that he's not creeping out while she's asleep ....lol. Has anyone else had problems with this, or does anyone have any ideas to stop them? |
