Helen, My John was with KOYLI 1955 to 1957. Done training at Strensall, York. On completion of basic training, he was held back on Permanent Staff until he was old enough to join the 1st Btn in Cyprus. John met me in London where I used to work after his 3 year tour in Cyprus. We married 1965 and I only did 2 years in Berlin as an Army wife when we came out of the army to join the London Fire Brigade. Julia

Hi Julia, As soon as I saw the letters, I knew there had got to be a infantry connection. Phil, my hubby was an LI man, he joined in 1977 and was 3 LI, until the cut backs in 1993 when we became 2LI. As you know 3LI was the Old King's Shropshire Light Infantry. Phil finished his 22, 5 years ago in July and I did 19 years of it with him, so I've seen abit of the world. What about You?

Hi Julia, I as so sorry to hear that your Koyli is not well. I know exactly how you feel having been down this road a few times with our Feia. Each time it felt like an arm or leg had been cut off but she is a fighter and pulled through. Have faith! Lindy xx

My pets have always meant the world to me. Our "current" kitty, Jaws, is a real treasure, but our last cat, Monique, thought she was a dog or my real child (followed me everywhere; laid down with me when I was upset--actually ON my head :~) and just couldn't be more sweet and loving). She was 18 years old when we discovered cancer. She had two operations (they didn't work) before we finally had to help her and end her suffering. I know how it hurts when our pets are ill. I will think of you both and send all the hugs and good thoughts that I can. We've had animals for decades; knowing that the vets are "hopeful" means that there is a chance at least, if not a good chance. Our vets are very honest and would not be hopeful if things looked bad. You're both in my thoughts. :~)

Hello, Julia, I'm so sorry that your pet is so ill. although I don't know what a G.S.D.is, I'm not being flippant but I can tell that it is very precious to you . I also have two pets and I know how you are feeling because I've "been there" Your pet is in the very best place and I know how frantic with worry you will be . I don't know why we do it to ourselves ( have pets) because they can break your hearts. I console myself with the thought that I give them the very best of things in their life........I must stop now,I'm getting morbid. My two dogs are laid on the floor at my feet snoring their heads off ( two King Charles Cavaliers) I'm thinking of you and your pet, try being positive although it's difficult Lots of love Joyce

Out beloved G S D called KoYLI Has been poorly with Colitis since January. 2 days ago she was taken very poorly And last night I lay with her as I thought she was going, This morning we took her to the vets and they have kept her in to put her on a drip. I know shes in the best place and they seem hopeful, But she is so special and we miss her so much. I Know how good you all are with your prayers and she's going need all the help she can get. Many thanks Julia Had a phone call from the Vet this morning, Koyli had a good night and is bright in herself. The vet is going to keep her in as she's still losing blood. and they think she might have an ulcer. Thank you all for your kind words, it does help. Julia
