Dear Ann, my thoughts, prayers and sympathy are with you, your mum and the rest of your family at this very sad time. It must be reassuring for your mum to have you there with her, and good that you got to your dad before he passed away. Love and hugs, Mandy xx |

Anne I'm sorry to hear your sad news. I'm glad you got there in time to be with your Dad. The funeral directors who are bringing Dad home apply for the certifcate from the home office and that is given as long as you have a death certifcate which gives a clear cause of death that would be accepted in the UK ( and it sounds like you should have that ) Try and get the doctor at the hospital to write on it in English too. If not the death may be referred to the Coroner or Procurator Fiscal. You should also be able to register the death at the embassy in Austria. You will not be able to register the death in the UK although I am unsure of scottish law on this but think it is the same, so get some certificates from them to bring back here for all the financial things that will eventually need sorting. Thinking of you Deborah |
