She went peacefully knowing how much she was loved, she will always remain in that special place in your heart. Sue, I am so sorry. Hopefully it will give you peace and comfort in the days ahead that you set her free. I have been through losing people and I am sure they hang on until we are ready to let them go. Sandy is no longer suffering and died in your arms, full of love. What more could anyone ask of their death? Will you let us all know how you're doing? Many of us have been through it and we are all here for you. Thinking of you and sending much love, Sal.X |

Thank you all so much for your kind words. Sadly my dog and my best friend died at 12.30 am Sunday. Its now been two hours since she died and I feel so sad and lonely. Her condition got worse and she had more strokes and fits today She was at home with me and I had her head in my lap,she was so unwell and I told her she could go. I was stroking her and she just went to sleep peacefully. It was as if she new that it was ok to go. The tears are falling but I know she is at peace. Thank you once again for all your kind words about Sandy. Sue x |

Dear Sue Thanks so much for the update, I have been thinking of both you and Sandy today. I am so pleased that she is better, and walking now and obviously she is much happier. Perhaps it was a very minor and transitory blip and the medication will keep her stable, I do hope so. Still lots of love and hugs to you both, and you will be in my thoughts. ((((((((((xxxxx & big hug for Sandy)))))))))))) |

Hi everyone,I can't thank you all enough for all your kind words and wishes. I couldn't reply last night because my server went down so I thought I would quickly let you all know that after a peacefull night Sandy got up and walked today! She was a little unsteady but she walked. The medication and all your kind wishes are working, thank god. She looked so pleased with herself when she did it and she got lots of hugs and love. Its time for bed now for both of us over here in Oz so I'll say goodnight and god bless to you all. We have another big day ahead of us tomorrow! Love from Sue and Sandy the dog X |

Sue, hope Sandy is better today. I have a beautiful jack russel/sheepdog cross and he will be 13 next Tuesday, every day I watch him get stiffer and slower and it scares me. I am praying for Sandy and thinking of you both, hope each day brings her more strength. Big hugs for you both from me and my puppy Fly. M. |

Hello Sue About a month ago I lost my little dog Josie. She was twelve years of age and we found she had a heart defect which she was taking medication for. Unfortunately the medication was making her very ill and caused great pain in her stomach. We could see that she was suffering and really did not know what was going on. We took her to the emergency and was told that they could put her under 24 hours care overnight, but at the end it would not be a cure - she would be still suffering. We decided to put her to sleep, and was left to say our goodbyes. I can tell you Sue that it was the worst time of my life and I can understand what you are thinking, but when I look back and remember her little face as she suffered and her face free from pain after she fell asleep I knew that I had done the right thing. It's a case of doing what is right for your dog, knowing when it is time to say goodbye. Big hugs for Sandy Linda |

Sue, I am so sorry to hear about Sandy, and my prayers are with you. I know just how you feel, you might have seen my thread recently about Koyli our gsd, so yes I really send you my thoughts and prayers. All our pets are only on loan from God and he finds the best possible people to look after them so Sandy will have had as much love as you can give him. Be brave Julia |

Sue Our Love and hugs are sent to you and Sandy ((((((x)))))) I know how you must be feeling before we lost little Jack earlier this year he lost the power to use of his back legs all the time he could occasionally walk on them but not well.We eventually had to take him to the vet as with the other problems he had, and he was 12yrs old we decided it was for the best. I hope Sandy recovers and has many more years with you You are in our thoughts and prayers may the angels look out for you and send their healing powers to Sandy Love Jan |
