I have been trying to search the dutch FR site for Madelon de Zeeuw who spent some time at school in Oadby, UK around 1970, but whose parents came from Arnhem, Holland. All I keep getting is error messages which say contact FR UK - they say they can't help(??!!), and dutch support just don't reply. Is there anyone who could try searching the dutch FR site for me to see if you have any better luck than I do? Thanks P.S. Kitchen ceiling still holding on - now have 5 chaps up there trying to make the roof waterproof before the promised thunderstorm this afternoon!! |

Louise, Must be doing something wrong as the link doesn't take me to a union jack - it seems to be a dutch jewish genealogy site?? Thanks anyway, Maggie |

Finally heard from support FR UK. There is a known problem with the dutch site that dutch support are trying to fix!! Looks like the men have fixed the cover for the ceiling - the rain came down yesterday but not in - looks like I can go back to being plain ole "Maggie in Leics"!! |

Hi Maggie I am certainly a friend in Holland, but I don't know what you mean by the Dutch FR site!!! Am I missing something here, am I a bit dumb?? Do you mean Friends Reunited? Family Records? What? I don't mean to sound unfriendly here, I am very frienly, honest, and would love to help if I could! Lisa xx |

Lisa, Sorry - should have made it plain!! Dutch FR is the dutch version of Friendsreunited www(.)vriendentrefpunt(.)nl I was trying to search the site for my old friend Madelon de Zeeuw, but kept getting error messages. Have now heard from Friendsreunited UK that the dutch support are aware of the problem and are trying to fix it. Thanks for your offer of help. Maggie |

Hi once again. I have now looked through the Dutch Friends Reunited and found your request is already there - 3 times in fact, so I didn't bother to add another request! I think Madelon would have been spelt Madeleine and are you sure if it was just "de Zeeuw" and not "van de Zeeuw" as there are both in Arnhem. Sylvia xxx |

Sylvia, Thanks for looking. When I knew Madelon, she was definitley calling herself de Zeeuw, not van de Zeeuw, and spelling her name Madelon, not Madeleine. Haven't managed to search the list of members registered on the dutch friendsreunited site - it keeps going into error mode - hope they fix it soon!! Thanks for your help. Maggie |
