Hi Lindy My Mum is arriving at Faro airport at 6pm tomorrow evening. I was wondering if you could recommend any places to stay in the Albufeira area or nearby. She has been given the following ideas for getting a place - tourist info at the airport, asking a cab driver at the airport or going into a Brit bar in Albufeira. Obviously if you knew of a good place it would make life a lot easier. She's staying for a week. She says she 'doesn't do five star' and a room somewhere would be just fine! lol. She would like to be close to amenities though as she doesn't really want to hire a car. Cheers! Jeanette |

Hello Jeanette, Sorry, but I do not know Albufeira at all. I think that we have been there four times. Too many people and too much noise. The best I could do is phone a few residentials and ask about accomodation etc. and make a booking on your Mum's behalf. However, I would need all necessary details. I don't know how many people are aware of the fact that over one million people have passed through Faro airport since the footie started. I would be surprised it there was space for a mouse..lol.. Please let me know as soon as possible and in the meantime I shall put our a few feelers. Lindy;-) |

Hi Lindy Mum says not to worry if you don't know the area. She's off to town now to buy a Lonely Planet Guide. She's a bit of a seasoned traveller so she isn't too worried. Infact she says she'll sleep on the beach if she has to! lol. Judging by the weather you're having it will probably be the coolest place. Cheers! Jeanette |
