Brief update in Sharons absence We saw Jen's consultant this afternoon who basically confirmed what we'd thought; that she was makign slow but steady progress. Its 4 weeks on now, and they had hoped she would have recovered some feeling in her body by now, but that's not to say that she will not. They're pleased with her mental sharpness though, and the steps she's making towards recovering her speech. But it's the physical side where there's concerns (reading between the lines slightly). They're going to reassess in another 4 weeks. Thank you all for your kind and reassuring words. |

With Gods help and a lot of determination from your Mum she will fight back to good health. My late sister-in -law had a big stroke at 42 at 47 you would never have known that she had been struck down. She died in 2001 at the age of 79 of a stroke(3) But she had 30 good years after her first one. So cheer up and all our prayers will go out for you and your Mum. Regards Ernest XXX |

Hi Sharon, I know what you are going through when my Mum was 45 she had a major stroke also. At first I couldn't understand when she spoke because her scottish accent came out hence didn't understand her. She had physio etc. She has made a full recovery and has been working full time for years now. So fingers crossed that your Mum makes the same recovery as mine. You are more then welcome to email me if you want anyone to chat to, who knows what you are going through. Chin up your Mum will get there. My thoughts are with you Nat |
