With Gods help and a lot of determination from your Mum she will fight back to good health. My late sister-in -law had a big stroke at 42 at 47 you would never have known that she had been struck down. She died in 2001 at the age of 79 of a stroke(3) But she had 30 good years after her first one. So cheer up and all our prayers will go out for you and your Mum. Regards Ernest XXX

Brief update in Sharons absence We saw Jen's consultant this afternoon who basically confirmed what we'd thought; that she was makign slow but steady progress. Its 4 weeks on now, and they had hoped she would have recovered some feeling in her body by now, but that's not to say that she will not. They're pleased with her mental sharpness though, and the steps she's making towards recovering her speech. But it's the physical side where there's concerns (reading between the lines slightly). They're going to reassess in another 4 weeks. Thank you all for your kind and reassuring words.

Here's hoping she makes good progress, it can be done as we meet up once a year with my mother-in-law's best man who had a stroke about 4 years ago and has virtually all his faculties back apart from a bad limp requiring a stick. On the other hand one of our oldest friends who is 58 this month contracted Parkinson's which was only diagnosed earlier this year, although she's had progressive difficulty for a couple of years, and she's far worse than him physically.
