Oh will they get a telegram from the Queen in the UK too? I know they will get one when they each turn a 100 - these days though you have to write to the Palace to inform them a relative will be 100 , not as special is it? Much happiness Debi |

Hi Debi, There's not too many who make it to their 50th Wedding Anniversary. My Uncle and Aunt did so celebrated theirs by inviting all the family including neices and nephews - bit like a family reunion really. It was at lunchtime - a huge and happy event. It's especially important here in NZ because you used to get a telegram from the Queen - don't know if that still happens. Christine |

WOW These are really good ideas - thank you very much . One I have already decided on is the 50 gold yellow roses - as there is 5 children each to have 10 delivered to the door - just to keep the florist's busy LOL!! Please keep them coming : ) So I can present the rest of bros and sis with these fab ideas. THANKYOU -x- |

A family lunch is a good idea especially if they are likely to get tired ( are they in good health?) The group photo is a brilliant idea and a little holiday sounds great! Well thats what I'd like anyway only ten years to go!! Our neighbours recently had theirs and their children and granchildren had a new piece of patio laid and put a nice garden bench on it, they were delighted! How about a small branch sprayed gold and attach 50 gold coins? Best of luck Linda x |

Here's an idea, what about trying to find 50 photo's, one for each year of their marriage and putting them into a golden wedding album, also taking individual portraits of each of their children and their familys and putting them into golden frames, it's my in laws 50thin 2 years time and that is a couple of ideas that I'm planning to do. Wishing them all the best. |

That sounds a great idea Christine.... How big a 'do' will it be? If you need a room somewhere I think you should ring around soon. What do Mum and Dad want, quiet, showy, family, or friends too? Are the bridesmaids or best man still in touch, - it may be nice to include them. If you are putting on a secret event, you will have to make that clear on the invites. In the run up to Christmas you should be able to find all manner of gold tablewear, decorations etc. |

Hi Deborah, a friend of mine had a portrait photgraph taken of her Mum, Dad and their nine children and presented it to them on their 50th anniversary, set in a lovely gold coloured frame, along with 50 golden yellow roses. The couple were absolutely delighted. The family then sent them off for a long weekend to the Isle of Arran where thay had had their honeymoon. I'm sure you'll get lots of ideas and whatever you do they'll be happy best wishes Christine |
