June, I think you`ll find, the `formats` are different. I `think` you need to copy in NCST, or something like that |

The formats are different. My son brought one for us from England and he had to have it re-recorded here. Something to do with the number of 'lines' on our screens I believe. You can maybe make the recording and have it transcripted there. |

Hello, Thank you for the replys to my problem. When we where in Florida about 4 years ago we got a tape on Naples, then when we put it into our video it would only come up black and white. But then we had a new TV and just had a go with it again. It was lovely all in full colour. That is what I did not understand why my friend in IOWA could not play our tape. Thank you very much again. Bye now June. |

Tapes recorded on the NTSC format used in the US will play back on VCRs sold in this country. But machines sold there will not play back our PAL format, so anyone receiving a tape from here will have to have it converted professionaly there. They can be converted before they are sent of course, if you want to avoid the recipient having to fork out. |

video tapes we do, won't play on mum in laws recorder, or her tapes won't play on ours, and we are in same country. Similarly son did a DVD for his brother, and that wouldn't play on their DVD either. |
